石榴石

石榴石因其晶體外形酷似成熟的石榴籽而得名，英文名稱為Garnet，由拉丁文“Granatum”演變而來，意思是“像種子一樣”。
石榴石晶體因與石榴籽的形狀、顏色深紅帶紫十分相似，故名“石榴石”。
一、石榴石的物理特性
晶系：屬等軸晶系。
折光率：1.74-1.88。
硬度：6.5-7.5，
密度：3.5-4.3克/立方釐米 。
產地：斯里蘭卡、印度、馬達加斯加、美國、中國等國。
石榴石顏色美麗多樣，折光率高，光澤強烈，透明度高，是現代人們較喜愛的寶石品種之一。
石榴石的評價依顏色、透明度、細微性為依據。寶石級石榴石的標準要求：透明度好，顏色鮮豔，粒徑大於5毫米。
在國際寶石市場上，純淨無暇，顏色鮮豔，晶瑩剔透的石榴石價值很高。翠綠色鉻釩鋁榴石價值最高，質優者可與祖母綠相比。
紅色、橙紅色石榴石也很寶貴。
二、石榴石的靈性功用
許多國家把石榴石定為“一月誕生石”，被認為是信仰、忠實和真誠、友愛和貞操的象徵。在中東，石榴石被選做王室信物。
西方人認為石榴石具有治病救人的神奇功效；古往今來，石榴石還被認為可保旅途平安，因此經常出門旅行的人常以石榴石相伴。

三、石榴石的佩戴
石榴石的佩戴比較有講究，基督教和天主教戴在右手，這個不同別的石頭，這個基督教戴在右手的10種石頭之一，不是天主教或者基督教徒的左右手都可以帶，功效沒有差別。
因為石榴石助七輪中的海底輪，所以帶左手、右手都會通過靜脈動脈來影響海底輪，所以左右手都可以帶，而且功效相同。
四、石榴石的消磁方法
石榴石無法用一般的消磁方法，所以最好使用禦守鹽消磁或者用海菊花消磁。
消磁方法使用時有3種方法﹕
第一種是把細的禦守鹽和礦泉水調和後倒入杯子或者碗裡，之後把晶石放入其中。消磁一次可以連續帶1個月之久。
第二種是買專門的大顆粒禦守鹽，用盤子或者碟子裝。用禦守鹽把石榴石埋起來。這樣的效果很好，消磁一次可以用3個月之久。也叫做百日消磁。
第三種，海菊花消磁時只要把石榴石放在海菊花中心 經過24小時就可以消磁完畢。
