作家兼畫家的劉鏞先生曾如是分享：
「前天我岳父在紐約過101歲生日，老先生除了耳朵不太好，還是精神矍鑠，擁有三個iPad、兩個電視。看電視必吃零食，還愛啃鴨翅膀、吃速食泡麵，他每天早上第一個看報紙，看完之後折起來好像沒人動過。他的眼睛不好但是寫很小的字，整整齊齊像印刷品。他不懂英文但是看氣象而且報導給全家，他搽髮霜，熨燙衣服，欣賞漂亮女生⋯⋯他說，一不小心就活過了一百歲。對了，忘記提我岳母，他老人家94了，最近在背琵琶行⋯⋯」
長壽已經不是什麼稀奇的事了，但是如何活得長壽又快樂，才是最稀奇的事！
例如我身邊有另兩位最注重養生的朋友，每天早起運動，三餐都用心準備健康的食物，不交際、不應酬、不唱歌、不玩樂，每天作息固定而且準時就寢⋯⋯，遺憾的是：這兩位年紀不過七十的長者都得了失智症，而且變得鬱鬱寡歡，這是怎麼一回事呢？
很多長者只注重養身，卻不注重養心，整天都把焦點放在自己身體上，擔心哪裡有病痛、哪裡退化了⋯，如果生活過的不快樂，那長壽有什麼意義呢？
攝影大師郎靜山除了作品聞名中外，享年104歲的高齡長壽也很受人矚目。
他的女兒透露：「父親長壽歸功於心理因素，也就是修養和氣度。郎靜山覺得聊天很傷神，故不多話；應酬浪費時間，連吃飯都只是一菜一湯，認為世界上沒有大不了的事，所以從不動怒，才能長保身體健康。」
而郎靜山大師到了90多歲高齡，還背著笨重的攝影器材，世界各地到處跑，樂在工作，忘了自己，這樣的人生多麼自由瀟灑啊！
