一個富翁帶著愛犬出國旅遊，在一個小鎮上，他的愛犬突然失蹤了。
他便急忙找到當地一家報社，要求刊登尋狗啟事，並說誰為他找到愛犬，將獲得一萬美元的酬勞。
富翁等到晚上，還不見報紙出版，又跑到報社去問，只有一個守門的老頭在那兒。
富翁問：「難道今天不出報紙了嗎？」
老頭：「是的，先生。」
富翁：「為什麼？」
老頭：「所有的編輯都上街找狗去了。」
