一位立志在40歲非成為億萬富翁不可的先生，在35歲的時候，發現這樣的願望根本達不到，於是放棄工作開始創業，希望能一夜致富。五年間他開過旅行社、咖啡店，還有花店……，可惜每次創業都失敗，他心力交瘁，也陷家庭於絕境。
他的太太想說服他重回職場，在無計可施下，跑去尋求高僧的協助。高僧瞭解狀況後跟太太說：“如果你先生願意，就請他來一趟吧!”
這位先生事後雖然來了，但從眼神看得出，這一趟只是為了敷衍他太太而來。
高僧不發一語，帶他到僧廟的庭院中，庭院約有一個籃球場大，庭中盡是茂密的百年老樹，高僧從屋簷下拿起一支掃把，跟這位先生說：“如果你能把庭院的落葉掃乾淨，我會把如何賺到億萬財富的方法告訴你。”
這位先生雖然不信，但看到高僧如此嚴肅，加上億萬財富的誘惑，這位先生就接過掃把開始掃地。
過了一個鐘頭，好不容易從庭院一端掃到另一端，眼見總算掃完了，他轉身拿起畚箕，準備收拾剛剛掃成一堆堆的落葉時，回頭卻看到剛掃過的地上又掉了滿地的樹葉。
懊惱的他只好加快掃地的速度，希望能趕上樹葉掉落的速度。但經過一天的嘗試，地上的落葉跟剛來的時候一樣多。
這位先生怒氣衝衝地扔掉掃把，跑去找高僧，想問高僧為何這樣開他的玩笑?
高僧指著地上的樹葉說：“欲望像地上掃不盡的落葉，層層蓋住了你的耐心。你心上有一億的欲望，身上卻只有一天的耐心；就像這秋天的落葉，一定要等到冬天葉子都掉光後才能掃得乾淨，可是你卻希望在一天就掃完。”
說完，就請夫妻倆回去。
臨走時，高僧就對這位先生說，為了回報他今天掃地的辛苦，在他們回家的路上會經過一個穀倉，裡面會有100包用麻布袋裝的稻米，每包稻米都有100斤重。
如果先生願意把這些稻米幫他搬到穀倉外，在稻米堆後面會有一扇門，裡頭有一個寶物箱，裡面是善男信女們所捐贈的金子，數量不是很多，就當作是今天你幫我掃地與搬稻米的酬勞。
這對夫妻走了一段路後，看到了一間穀倉，裡面整整齊齊地堆了約二層樓高的稻米，完全如同高僧的描述。
看在金子的份上，這位先生開始一包包地把這些稻米搬到倉外。
數小時後，當快搬完時，他看到後面真的有一扇門，他興奮地推開門，裡面確實有一個藏寶箱，箱上並無上鎖，他輕易地打開寶物箱。
他眼睛一亮，寶箱內有一小包麻布袋，拿起麻布袋並解開繩子，伸進手去抓出一把東西，可是抓在手上的不是黃金，而是一把黑色小種子。
他想也許它們是用來保護黃金的東西，所以將袋子內的東西全倒在地上。但令他失望，地上沒有金塊，只有一堆黑色籽粒及一張紙條，他撿起紙條，上面寫著：這裡沒有黃金。
這位受騙的先生失望地把手中的麻布袋重重摔在牆上，憤怒地轉身打開那扇門準備離開。
卻見高憎站在門外雙手握著一把種子，輕聲說：“你剛才所搬的百袋稻米，都是由這一小袋的種子費時四個月長出來的。你的耐心還不如一粒稻米的種子，怎麼聽得到財富的聲音?”
偉大都是熬出來的，為什麼用熬，因為普通人承受不了的委屈、你得承受，普通人需要別人理解安慰鼓勵、你沒有。
孝莊皇后曾對康熙帝說：“孫兒，大清國最大的危機不是外面的千軍萬馬，最大的危難，在你自己的內心”。
最難得不是別人的拒絕與不理解，而是你願不願意為你的夢想而作出改變!
你受得了何種委屈，決定你能成為何種人。
要改變一切，首先要改變自己。
你的世界是由你自己創造出來的，你變了，一切都變了。
