有一位愛鳥人士他特別喜歡鸚鵡，有一天他經過一間鳥店發現裡面正在拍賣一隻鸚鵡，他看那只鸚鵡毛色很好看決定要買。
於是他喊道：「我願意出10美金買下這只鸚鵡！」
接著有人喊價：「我願意出20元美金！」
那位愛鳥人士不願把那只鸚鵡拱手讓人，於是他又喊了30元。
可是另一個聲音像在跟他作對，一直到那位愛鳥人士叫了200元時才停。
那人買到鸚鵡很高興，可是他突然想到：「我花了那麼多錢才買到這鸚鵡，如果牠不會說話那我不就虧大了嗎？」
於是他就去問老闆：「老闆，你這只鸚鵡會不會說話啊？」
接著他聽到鸚鵡大叫：「不會說話？！？！你以為剛剛是誰在跟你喊價啊？」
