古希臘哲學家蘇格拉底的妻子是個潑辣的女人，經常對蘇格拉底謾駡。
有一次，蘇格拉底和學生們沉浸在討論哲學的快樂中，他的妻子怒氣衝衝的進來，把蘇格拉底臭駡一頓，又出外提來一桶水，猛地潑到蘇格拉底身上。
蘇格拉底摸了摸渾身濕透的衣服，風趣地說：
“我知道，打雷以後，必定會下大雨。”
凡人遇到尷尬的時候，總是勃然大怒，大發雷霆，但若您能和風細雨，巧妙的化解難堪即體現了您的心胸。
心胸狹窄的人，總是破口大駡，大失風度；
心胸豁達的人，一句幽默就化被動為主動。
所以，幽默的人充滿了智慧，也更多的體現了內心的修養。
