北京大學教授張頤武6/17日在大陸《環球時報》撰文指出，綽號「中關村周杰倫」、自黑撞臉「兵馬俑」的董宇輝仿佛一夜之間成為直播界的頂流，引發大陸人們對「新型直播」的關注。
這位過去的新東方（補教業）英語老師，在直播帶貨過程中，不是聲嘶力竭喊「一二三上連結」，而是說著諸如「你背單詞時，阿拉斯加的鱈魚正躍出水面；當你算數學時，南太平洋的海鷗正掠過海岸；當你晚自習時，地球的極圈正五彩斑斕」等妙語，展現文化素養和有趣談吐，收穫多方好評，在直播領域闖出一片天地。
張頤武說，董宇輝的轉型開闢出了人生新空間，也帶出行業轉型的一種可能性。
他的做法受到肯定，一方面當然是他的直播本身就具有獨到風格。
董宇輝用娓娓道來方式、饒有興味的表達、獨特的文化底蘊，還有擅長的雙語表達直播帶貨，並時時不忘社會責任感，讓他成為直播界一股清流。
由此看到不一樣的直播，一種和他教師生涯相關聯的直播形態。

但他不放棄，不拋棄，而是成功運用作為教師的過往經驗和知識積累，在已經是紅海的直播行業中收穫新的肯定。
這當然不容易，在堅持半年後，他的知識儲備和教學習得的溝通能力，才被更多人看到。
張頤武強調，這不是躺平的消極，也不是抱怨的頹喪，更不是虛無的落寞，而是面對人生挑戰積極的態度。這種態度也賦予這名年輕人的直播間以一種力量。
董宇輝為什麼觸動了很多人，他不放棄的努力或許是最大原因之一。
董宇輝曾經努力過，在遇到新困難時，他在新的領域繼續努力，還能取得成功。
