生命可以有各種質感，如同海畔有逐臭之夫，
最重要的是，我們有「選擇」自己生活方式的自由！
這是最好的時代、也是最壞的時代……
有些人「選擇」宅在父母身邊冥想、順便「孝順」，有些人「選擇」努力工作並致富，包括賣包子的阿伯供應兒女去英國念書、道士拿3000萬現金買別墅、早餐店阿伯擁有整排房子、阿姨賣便當30年買12套房、蚵仔麵線老闆狂買6房及肉圓老闆娘用現金買10房…等「路邊攤傳奇」，成為台灣江湖美談。
很有選擇也成為江湖趣談。至少，每個人有「選擇」自己生活方式的自由！
每個世代、有每個世代的傳奇，機會也不會只停在上一代，它只是以不同的型態出現，所以自己的人生，自己獨白。
你或許手上沒有一手好牌，但可以「選擇」把牌打好？
有人曾問，背讀「唐詩三百首」又有何用？
大部分讀過的詩都會忘掉、也不能拿來換錢，那「讀書」的意義何在？
這是我見過最好的回答：
「小的時候我吃了很多東西，其中的大部分我已記不清是什麼，但我知道，他們已經成了我現在的骨、肉和靈。」
讀書，也是如此。它在不知不覺中、潛移默化中就已經影響了你的思想，你的言行，你的氣質、形象。並形塑了你的生命質感！
又如，父子二人在飲茶，兒問：「讀書有何用處？」
父答：「我這麼跟你說吧！你讀了書，喝這茶時就會說：‘此茶湯色澄紅透亮，氣味幽香如蘭，口感飽滿純正，圓潤如詩，回味甘醇，齒頰留芳，韻味十足，頓覺如夢似幻，彷彿天上人間，真乃茶中極品！’
而如果你沒有讀書，你就會說：‘臥操！這茶不賴啊！’。」
生命可以有各種質感，而你有「選擇」自己生活方式的自由！
「選擇」你所愛，愛你所「選擇」！
