某日，上課談到秦朝歷史時，老師問小明 :
「王小明，你知不知道阿房宮是誰燒的。」
小明 : 「老師，我不清楚…，但保證不是我燒的。」
放學之後，老師打電話到小明家
鈴 ~ 鈴 ~鈴 ~
老師 : 「 王先生，今天上課的時候，我問小明，告訴我阿房宮是誰燒的，小明竟然跟我說，不是他燒的。」
爸爸 : 「老師，不好意思，我們家小明，笨歸笨，但是很老實，他說不是他燒，就應該不是他燒的 , 也許是別人燒的。」
老師無奈，換媽媽聽。
老師 : 「王媽媽，今天上課的時候，我問小明，阿房宮是誰燒的，小明竟然跟我說，不是他燒的。」
媽媽 : 「對不起， 麻煩老師稍等一下。」
電話另一頭隱約傳來打罵小孩的聲音。
媽媽 : 「不好意思，讓老師久等了，小明已經承認，阿房宮是他燒的了，小孩子就是不打不成器。」

督學到校視察，他想要暸解該校學生的素質如何，
所以就叫了小明來問：「阿房宮是誰燒的？」
只見小明很緊張的說：「不是我燒的！」
聽到這種答案，督學頓時覺得實在是太糟糕了，
便問校長：「校長，我剛剛問小明：『阿房宮是誰燒的？』，他竟然回答不是他燒的，你們是怎麼教的？」
校長更緊張的說：「我們向來都確實教導學生要誠實！他如果說不是他燒的，就一定不是他燒的，這一點我敢向您保証！」
