有個年輕的國王登基，為了治理好自己的王國，他決心學習天下的智慧。
為此，他徵召國內的智者，命令他們把所有的智慧書搜尋來，供他閱讀學習。
五年過去了，智者們辛苦趕回來了，身後的駱駝隊背著5,000本智慧寶典。
國王一看頭都大了，這麼多書如何去看啊。就命令智者們去精簡濃縮。
這樣又五年過去了，智者們再求見，身後的駱駝隊背回來500本書，國王仍嫌太多。
又是再五年時間，智者們帶回來50本巨著。
這時的國王已被各種問題搞得更加心煩氣躁，等待得也更不耐煩，還是覺得太多。
又過了幾年時間，當智者們把辛辛苦苦濃縮成的一本書進獻到國王面前時，他早已沒興趣看這本書了，也沒時間去實踐這些智慧了。
這時內憂外患四起，國內問題叢生，國外敵人不斷入侵，自己也百病纏身，這時，任何智慧都解決不了他的問題了。
所以，等待永遠不是解決問題的良方。
