李嘉誠先生常提起兩句話：“勿得罪人、勿遭人忌！”
一個世界級的首富，富可敵國，影響力遍及55國。
該是別人擔心是否得罪他，怎麼反過來？
在他70層樓高的總部辦公室，從巨大的落地窗俯瞰維多利亞港灣與一幢幢如森林般的香港高樓，景觀氣派，彷彿坐在直升機翱翔於水泥森林間。這是權力與顯赫。我見過許多站在最高峰者，但李嘉誠先生個人在顯赫與謙虛間的巨大落差，讓我震撼，也反覆思索。
1、不喜歡出鋒頭，遭人忌
一個擁有力量的人在處理人際關係時，進退如此謹慎，非常少見。
但他在五、六十年前就如此，當他還初出社會時，就小心翼翼的，不讓自己成為冒出頭的釘子。
李嘉誠17歲，於一家公司當業務員時就嶄露頭角。
第一年，他就是七個業務員中，業績最好的那一人，業績是第二名的七倍。這讓他的老闆頭痛不已，因為依照銷售成績來算，他沒想到李嘉誠的業績如此突出，分紅收入將領得比總經理還高。
李嘉誠得知後，竟然主動跟老闆說：「同一個公司每個人都妒忌我，你給我分紅跟第二名一樣就行了，這樣大家都開心，就解決了問題。」
一個不到20歲的年輕人，沒人教他，就領悟到職場大忌：別遭人妒忌。
2、不得罪哲學
他這樣行事風格，始終如一。他的「不得罪哲學」，最奇特的是，連能力比他低者、甚至仇人，他都不得罪。
他剛創業時候，與一家做英國生意的進口商往來，進口商欺負他小，騙他說因為海關作業關係，每筆貨款都要暫扣30％，也就是每100元要被對方先扣30元，從1950年到1957年，長達7年，一個銅板都沒退給李嘉誠，壓得剛創業的李嘉誠幾乎週轉不過來。
海關老早把錢退給這進口商，但他就留著自己用，一年加起來比李嘉誠原本運作的資金還大好幾倍。
忍無可忍，後來，李嘉誠寫了一封最後通牒的信：六個月後不再接受這樣的訂單。信發出後，結果全部的暫扣款全數退還。
頓時間，湧出這筆龐大的錢，李嘉誠五味雜陳：「我剛開始可以說如虎添翼。但是，也讓我恨之入骨。」
故事傳奇在後頭，李嘉誠飛黃騰達後的某一天，收到一封信。
有一人從英國寫封信過來，他在英國的報紙上看到李嘉誠的名字，
他問：「究竟你是不是我從前認識的做塑膠花的Mr. Li Ka Shing？」
這人說，他年歲已大，希望重遊香港，問李嘉誠能否支付他機票與飯店的錢。
接到信後，李嘉誠說：「好，你自投羅網。」
以李嘉誠的個性，通常招待遠道而來的客人多是搭頭等艙。而且，一住進酒店，就送花送酒致意。這次，雖然答應，但是高規格對待都免了。
他只想再會一面，讓他「恨之入骨」的人。
闊別多年，滄海桑田，一見面，李嘉誠原本的憤怒瞬間澆熄。
他看到對方，白髮蒼蒼，胖了，行動不便。
「我一見他，就馬上過去扶他，一句話都不敢講。馬上打給我秘書，酒啊！水果啊！快點送過去。」
李嘉誠本來是想要罵他：「可知道，那七年我受過苦喔？」
對一個當年逼得他幾乎撐不下去的仇人，如今李嘉誠的回應讓人不解。
我問他：當你恩人和仇人沒什麼兩樣，還可以搭商務艙免費遊香港？
他的回答在文字上聽不出大道理，卻可理解他但求無愧：
「你看到他好慘，我很好。他回去後一年就過世了。」
老天爺其實已經給了兩個不同做生意風格的人，公平回應。
3、凡事只講三分，即便被追問，回答也是點到為止
李先生的言語，非常簡單，凡事只講三分。
大道理，在他口中，也只有類似「不疾而速」這樣簡潔的形容。
即便追問，回答也是簡短，點到為止。
所以，如果你沒先閱讀過他先前的演講稿、沒有足夠的商場歷練、深厚的人生體悟，不見得能聽出其中的智慧。
譬如，他談到對待仇人的方式，表面言語，聽不出什麼，但其實是寬厚，也就是所謂的「讓敵人相信你」，這是經商很高的境界。
在他57年商場生涯，有很多此類智慧，皆非言語能全然表達。
從我的角度看李先生，他是一個客氣、拘謹、言語平淡、一個讓人尊敬的商人與巨人。而從他身上得到的啟迪，倒不是談話，而是風範。
