惟雯說故事
弟子問師父：「您能說說人類的奇怪之處嗎？」
師父答道：「人們急於成長，然後又哀嘆失去的童年；人們以健康換取金錢，不久後又想用金錢恢復健康；人們對未來焦慮不已，卻又無視現在的幸福。因此，人們既不活在當下，也不活在未來。人們活著彷彿自己從來不會死亡；直至臨死前，卻又彷彿從未活過。」
凡人，多數人皆活在上述狀態。
弟子再問師父一個人生的難題:「無論在任何狀態下，人始終不快樂。」
師父答道：「人生煩惱就12個字:放不下、想不開、看不透、忘不了。」
人貧困的時候不快樂；富裕的時候也不快樂。
有工作的時候不快樂；失業當然不快樂。
健康的時候不快樂；生病的時候更不快樂。
自小我們學習許多知識，學數學時，教我們「1+1=2」、「10-1=9」，但卻沒有教過我們，人生何時該加、何時該減，才會「快樂」？
弟子又再問師父一個人生的難題:「凡人如何追求「快樂」？」
師父答道：「所有我們學過的「課本」，都少了這門課。人有許多天性，享樂、慾望、嫉妒、自戀、愛、恨、懼…，當我們把這些天性列成一張表格時，赫然發現「快樂」在人的本性中，佔的比例非常少。因此，聰明的人，在「快樂」這門功課上仍可能得零分。事實上我們的「家庭」教育和「社會」大學，拼命地教人如何盤算、如何逐利、…教的儘是慫恿人憤怒、憂鬱、沮喪的「本事」。然而，教人「快樂」的方法卻不教？」

什麼是「快樂」？
快樂的定義可能很簡單，「今天的你，比昨日的你慈悲、感恩。」
貧窮的人，可以因家人還相聚快樂；因自己還健康快樂。即使面臨死亡，回憶一生曾擁有的美好時光，那怕只是片段，也可含笑而去。
人生無常，請珍惜一分平常。我們最終都要遠行，好好習得人生減法，早日懂得「快樂」這門課。永遠相信明天的朝陽，會有新的音符。

2010年荷蘭好聲音冠軍得主 Martin Hurkens，他在得獎之後走到街頭演唱「You Raise Me Up」，其影片在Youtube上已數億人觀看。他原是一名麵包師傅，擁有荷蘭一家麵包店的部份股權。金融危機後，麵包店撐不下去，賣給了連鎖商家，他失業了。整整兩年，遊蕩街頭，尋找工作，包括遠赴巴黎。
他的女兒知道父親除了做麵包，還唱了一口好嗓音；2010年為他偷偷報名「荷蘭好聲音」。一位55歲的老頭站上舞台，高唱「公主徹夜未眠」，贏得冠軍寶座。接下來電視台及舞台劇邀約不斷，Martin沒有選擇立刻出名賺錢的「本能」慾望；他選擇了「街頭」演唱，唱起祕密花園(Secret Garden)的歌曲「You Raise Me Up」。
「每當我心情低落，噢，我的靈魂如此疲憊；當麻煩接踵而至，我的內心沉重不安，然後，我在寂靜中沉默等待，直到你出現，坐於我身旁。你鼓舞了我，…所以，我能站在群山之巔，你鼓舞了我，使我能遊走驚濤駭浪…因為你的鼓舞，我超越了自己。」
Martin選擇的街頭，那正是他失業潦倒、痛苦匱乏的時最熟悉的角落。那天下著雨，他鼓起勇氣走到街上，沒有人認出他，甚至沒有人注意到他，他決定站在那熟悉的街口唱:「你鼓舞了我」。
Martin知道，街頭總有許多飄零的心。他選擇了一個「讓別人快樂，然後自己感覺有意義」的方式回答他剛剛獲得的「好聲音冠軍」寶座。排除計算、慾望、不急於成名後，他反而成了全球最令人感佩的歌者。
Martin當然是快樂的。而他的快樂來自於與世俗教導相反的選擇。
