二戰前夕，德國有一家很不起眼的信託公司叫巴比納信託行，專為顧客保管貴重財物。
戰爭爆發後，人們紛紛把財物取走，四散逃難去了。
老闆也打點細軟逃之夭夭，只有雇員西亞還在那裡清點帳目。
一顆顆炸彈在信託行附近炸響，西亞好像沒有聽見一樣，她清理完帳目，發現一個叫萊格的顧客還沒有把東西取走。
那是一顆價值50億馬克的紅寶石，西亞把寶石和所有託管檔放到一個小盒子裡，然後帶上所有帳目離開了信託行。
幾天之後，戰火將巴比納信託行一帶夷為平地，西亞也為逃避戰亂而四處奔走。
但無論走到哪裡，西亞都隨身帶著信託行的帳目和那顆寶石。
她覺得，她還是巴比納信託行的雇員，她要到戰爭結束，把帳目和寶石送回信託行。
戰爭終於結束了，西亞帶著三個孩子回到柏林，可是，巴比納信託行老闆已經在戰亂中死去，信託行已不復存在。
但西亞仍然保管著帳目和寶石。因為寶石是顧客委託保管的，顧客沒有把寶石取走，她就得一直為顧客保管，守住信託行的信譽。
多少年過去了，西亞一直沒有找到工作，她帶著三個孩子一直過著極其貧苦的生活。
其實，當初委託信託行保管寶石的萊格也在戰亂中死去了，那顆價值連城的紅寶石早已無人認領了，西亞完全可以悄悄地把它賣掉，過上錦衣玉食的生活。
可是她沒有，她覺得那是顧客的財物，她只能保管，不能有任何非分之想。
1978年，當地政府成立戰爭博物館，面向社會搜集二戰遺物，西亞便把她保管的信託行帳目和那顆紅寶石拿了出來。
政府多方努力，幫助西亞找到了萊格的孫子道爾。
道爾拿到那顆寶石，答應將寶石賣掉後一半給西亞，西亞婉言謝絕，說只收取這些年的保管費用。
西亞的事上了報紙，人們被她的誠信所感動，有人提議她出任商會總顧問，她以年紀大為由推掉了。
後來，又有幾家大型信託公司找到她，要求她出任榮譽總裁，她也謝絕了。
不久，西亞去世了。
幾家公司找到她的兒子克裡斯，要求買斷西亞的名字命名信託公司。
克裡斯難以抉擇，就讓幾家公司競標，最後，柏拉圖信託公司以80億馬克的天價獲取了西亞的冠名權。
許多人不解，說一個名字能值那麼多錢嗎？
柏拉圖公司總裁說，“西亞”已經不僅僅是一個人的名字，它代表的是一種企業精神，一種價比寶石的誠信，花80億買到這個榮譽，是十分值得！
不久，柏拉圖信託公司便更名為西亞信託公司，交易量果然一路攀升。
誠信之所以能夠創造價值，就因為誠信本身就是無價的。當你把誠信當成信仰和責任，你就贏得了人們的支持和信賴，無窮無盡的財富也會因此而產生。
