卓越是一種習慣

米開朗基羅是十六世紀義大利文藝復興時期最偉大的畫家與雕刻家。1509年他受邀在西斯汀教堂屋頂上畫下聖經故事──《創世記第一章》。
當時他必須平躺於懸吊的木架，手向上高舉才能作畫，十分困難，因此進度非常緩慢，不僅高舉的手酸痛不已，更因長期彎著背才能在木架上移動，連背都駝了。
有人曾經問他：「參觀的人都只是遠遠的從地上仰著頭看，你畫得到底好不好，又有多少人會注意呢？」
米開朗基羅卻回答：「可是，我自己知道畫得好不好啊！」
歷經十餘年的努力後，如今這個作品不但成為米開朗基羅舉世聞名的代表作，更成為世人心目中永垂不朽的藝術，觀賞者無不駐足驚嘆和感動。
相同的道理，當我們在執行一件事情，如果您在乎事情做的好不好，甚至可不可以因著努力變得更好，你就不會因循苟且、馬虎隨性、敷衍交差。
當你決定要追求卓越時，你會從內在產生更多的熱情，更多克服困難的耐心與毅力，進而造就不凡的生命。
在此，特別一提，「追求卓越」的精義不是凡事一步到位要求做到最完美，而是要一次比一次做的更好的生命態度。
所以，古希臘哲學家亞里斯多德說:「卓越是一種習慣」。
人的天性雖略有所不同，但主要的性格基本上大都是後天形成的，且是家庭教養和學校教育的結果。
所以，我們的一言一行都是日積月累養成的習慣。
我們有的人形成了很好的習慣，有的人形成了很壞的習慣。
到20歲左右的時候，我們已經有了自覺意識，已經開始明白什麼樣的習慣會使我們終身受益。
為了追求卓越，我們從現在起就要把卓越變成一種習慣，讓我們的卓越行為習以為常，變成我們的第二天性。
讓我們習慣性地去創造性思考，習慣性地去認真做事情，習慣性地去對別人友好，習慣性地去欣賞大自然。當你養成了卓越的習慣，在人們眼中你就會顯得卓越。
比如，讓我們今天就學會微笑，把悲傷留給自己，把快樂帶給別人。不管你是真心的還是職業性的微笑，只要你笑了，就會很美麗、很好看，就會給人留下美好的印象。
