一、 從紡織女工到華爾街精英
張欣—–SOHO中國有限公司總裁
1965年出生於北京，童年時代在天津等十多個城市停留過。
1980年，14歲的張欣跟著母親移居到香港，棲身在一間極小的房子裡，她分別在服裝廠、電子製造廠等地方做最低級的工作。為了實現自己人生目標，她每天下了班都風雨無阻地去讀夜校。
為儲錢讀書，張欣在信差、辦公室秘書兼財務等工作中緩慢前進，但是沒有明顯改善。後來在朋友的建議下，她於19歲帶著積攢的3000英鎊遠赴英國，就讀蘇塞克斯大學（University of Sussex）經濟學專業。
1992年獲得英國劍橋大學發展經濟學碩士學位；同年至1995年，先後在高盛集團(Golden Sachs)和美國華爾街投資銀行旅行家集團(Travelers Group)任職投資顧問，負責中國直接投資項目。
二、 成立SOHO中國
1994年和潘石屹 (當時是北京房地產公司老總) 結婚。
1995年張欣辭職回到北京，和丈夫攜手在建築界打天下，與夫共同創建了“北京紅石實業”，即SOHO中國的前身。
上世紀90年代中期，隨著互聯網大規模進入普通人的生活，做建築的張欣和潘石屹敏感地預見到網路技術將要對未來生活方式產生巨大衝擊。他們在自己的第一個項目SOHO現代城中首次提出了SOHO（小型辦公、居家辦公）的概念，為都市裡年輕專業人士和中小型公司提供靈活的多功能空間，迅速獲得市場的認可。
張欣是劍橋高材生，具華爾街投資眼光；潘石屹只有專科學歷，卻具另類創新的膽識。在房市起飛、蓋樓講求速度的中國地產界，潘石屹以古怪、去標準化的建築風格，不斷締造北京房市銷售紀錄。潘石屹會營銷、張欣懂財務，合在一起是非常厲害的組合。
2007年10月8日，SOHO中國在香港聯交所成功上市，創造了中國民營企業最大的IPO及亞洲最大的商業地產企業IPO。
SOHO 中國的土地儲備不多，但都位於中心城區，價值高，SOHO中國以後將大幅增加物業自持面積，其商業模式就與香港置地、新鴻基和太古集團類似。
三、全球最受尊敬十位女富豪第五名
張欣熱愛藝術，痴迷於一切能夠展現創造力的活動，並對建築藝術充滿激情。
2002年10月，張欣憑藉“長城腳下的公社”—這個由12名亞洲傑出建築師設計建造的當代建築藝術作品，在創新觀念上，給處在建築時代的中國帶來極大的震撼和引領作用，並獲得一個建築業的奧斯卡獎–威尼斯建築雙年展「建築藝術推動大獎」。2003年又入選《商業周刊》“亞洲之星”、2004年底入選2005年達沃斯世界經濟論壇“全球青年領袖”。被傳媒譽為“中國最聰明的女人。”
公司上市後潘石屹依然活躍在媒體的視野裡。而張欣似乎卻消失了，她把注意力放在了教育和慈善上，只接受過極少數幾家媒體的採訪，話題也只是與慈善、教育、宗教和建築相關。正因為推廣的美德教育，張欣曾被《福布斯》評為全球最受尊敬十位女富豪第五名。
