職場PQ能力

【楔子】
當年率先寫出EQ論文的兩位教授其中一位John Mayer，後來發表了一篇新論文，他說，EQ雖然好，但是有缺點！
【個性智商】
他提出的新論點稱為「PQ」，他們喚作「Personal Intelligence」，暫翻為「個性智商」，因為那個personal指的是personality（個性）。
他指出，當年他所寫的EQ，指的是「情緒智商」，只有包括一個人在群體之中、在情緒上如何高度共同工作，所以EQ高的人，往往在群體中擁有極佳「配合」及「融入」的能力。
大凡，EQ高的人，通常也從臉部表情、穿衣舉止、說話的態度……等等來瞭解對方的個性，然後予以配合，且也讓對方感受到他的EQ！
而PQ高的人，更魔高一尺、道高一丈，他有本能的只看人一眼就「感受」到對方的「個性」，也瞭解自己的個性和他「合不合」，然後，PQ高的人，可以很自然的，以不一樣的方式，來處理那些奇奇怪怪的個性。有的配合。有的則予以隔絕、閃得遠遠的。有的施以不同的「手段」。
重點是，EQ強調和諧共存，PQ卻強調「識人、選人」，而且，面對不同的人，提出不同的「手段」來處理。
【個性智商案例】
這個「PQ」新理論來得正是時候，解答我最近的困惑──
最近和以前一位主管出來吃飯，他已經離開待了十年的公司，我記得他是一個非常棒的EQ高手，很受長官和同事喜歡，和部屬也都處得很好，我和他交情一直保持到現在。我很好奇，這麼一個EQ高的人，是什麼原因一定要離開這間公司？
他說，很簡單，就是碰到一位新上任的副總，能力很強，要求很多。
新的副總上任，立刻要求這個小部門在期限內完成系統建置，我這位主管展現高超的配合度，立刻找來他的部屬商量，如何一起完成這個專案，但這一次，因為壓力相當重，他的部屬開始反彈、無法依進度進行，眼見只剩三個月。
猜猜看，接下來發生什麼事？
我這位主管，為了完成工作，只好將所有的責任扛在自己身上，白天他還是受部屬愛戴的好主管、受副總仰賴的部門頭頭，晚上則「自己一人」繼續加班，連續一個月、兩個月。到了第三個月。他發現，系統依然無法如期完成，但他已經累垮，而且開始生氣了！
他下了決定：「這種『濫好人』，不能繼續做下去！」於是提出了辭呈，默默的離開了。
有趣的是，就在歡送宴過後的一個月內，那位副總已經找齊了新的主管，也替換了該部門的幾位部屬，鐵腕作風令人傻眼，不過，特別的是，聽說系統也順利完成了，公司上下和樂一片。
【跋】解決「濫好人」問題
我想，這就是典型的EQ被PQ「打敗」的例子。
高EQ的人曾經是職場最受歡迎的動物，但在現今職場的環境下，EQ高的人，儘管受歡迎，卻已經不是最快樂的人。
PQ要解決的，是EQ經常的「濫好人」問題，洞察每個人的個性、自己的個性，施以不同的方案，該拉拔的拉拔，該殺的就殺。主管和部屬除必須具備EQ的能力，主管自己更必須具備PQ的能力。
