渡人先自渡
惟雯說故事
有一個人問佛陀：「我的身體一向不好，到處求神問藥都毫無起色，請您指示我到底還要不要信神呢？」
佛陀聽了就親切的問他：「你看前面那個村落里的農民，假使春天時，他們不去耕田播種，而只是在神前祈求賜予他們豐收，那到了秋天，神會賜給他們豐收嗎？」
那人答：「我想不會的。」
佛陀說：「你說的很對。現在再問你，倘若一個農夫在春天努力耕種，但他並沒有求神賜下豐收，那到了秋天，他會不會有收穫呢？」
那人答：「我想是有的。」
佛陀說：「那麼，一個人不務正業，不去運動，他的家境會好嗎？身體會健康嗎？」
那人答：「這是不大可能的。」
佛陀說：「天雨雖大，不潤無根之草；佛門雖廣，難渡無緣之人。自助者，天助之。抱怨和祈禱，解決不了問題。人一輩子，結果是好是壞，都依賴於自己。生活的不順，打不垮內心堅強的人。」
佛陀又說：「一念超生，渡人先自渡。抱怨，解決不了問題，自渡，才能了苦。」
