點燃自尊之火

屠格涅夫是俄國著名的作家。
有一天，他在街上散步，忽然遇到一個衣衫襤褸的窮人向他行乞，請求屠格涅夫給他一點東西吃。
屠格涅夫摸遍身上的所有口袋後對窮人說：「兄弟啊，實在對不起！我沒帶什麼吃的東西。」
誰知聽完這句話，那窮人緊緊拉住屠格涅夫的手，連連道謝。
屠格涅夫既慚愧又驚奇，忙問道：「你謝我幹什麼？」
窮人說：「我原想吃點東西後就去自殺，沒想到世界上還有溫暖，你稱我為兄弟，你給了我活下去的勇氣，救了我的命。」
屠格涅夫連自己都沒有想到，他的一句「兄弟」的尊稱，竟然點燃了這位窮人的自尊之火，使他增添了生存的勇氣和自信。
