在一個大雪紛飛的傍晚，一輛轎車在加拿大魁北克省一個小城的路上緩慢前進，駕駛是魯尼茲，他在雪地上小心翼翼地駛著。
不久，魯尼茲看到前面不遠處有一個蹣跚的身影，於是他把車緩緩停下來，探出頭大聲的問：「請問，需要我幫助嗎？」
那是一位六十開外的老人；老人很感激，上了魯尼茲的車。
途中，突然一輛轎車迎面駛來，魯尼茲下意識的踩下刹車；可是他的車難以控制的打滑向路邊衝去，撞在一顆大樹上。
魯尼茲醒來時己躺在醫院裏，所幸，他只是斷了兩根肋骨；但護士告訴他，那老人做了開顱手術，還在昏迷中。
老人的家人來了，感謝他對老人的幫助；即便如此，律師還是按照法律，要魯尼茲為自己的過失負責，承擔老人70%的醫療費用。
老人在昏迷二十多天後，奇蹟般的醒過來，他醒來後的第一句話竟是：「要感恩，不要賠償；善意都是美好的，不要傷了好人的心。」
老人的話在人們心裏引起了共鳴，小城居民都被感動了，人們紛紛走上街頭，打著「讓善意不再尷尬」、「拯救愛心」的標語，為老人募捐；但老人後來又把這些善款都捐出來，成立了「愛心救助基金」，用來幫助那些因為行善而遭遇尷尬的人。
後來，在魁北克省舉行的最受愛戴的人物評選中，居民們毫無爭議的寫上了老人的名字-盧森斯。
大家對老人這樣評價：「當善意被扭曲時，是盧森斯還原了善意的本來模樣，讓人們可以毫無攔阻和懼怕的去愛。」
尊重善意，是和諧之活水；奉獻愛心，是良俗之源頭；源清水淨、源遠流長。
感恩的心是最美的，人愛我一分，我愛人十成，在發揚這種觀念的社會，人們更願意、更勇敢的發揮內在的慈善心，盼這事也能啟發我們！
