喬納森•邁爾斯在《股市心理學》中講過這樣一個故事：
岸邊的狐貍勸水裡的魚去另一塊水塘，因為那裡既風景怡人又有食物無數。
魚動心了。
狐貍說，你可以到我嘴裡來，然後我把你帶過去，我發誓，絕不傷害你。
魚答應了。
可沒走多遠，魚就感到疼痛刺骨，便掙扎著問狐貍，你剛發過誓，為何還這麼對我？
狐貍說，我實在是情不自禁，因為捕食是我的天性！
一、「非理性衝動」的行為經濟學
身而為人，是不是要做一個「理性的人」，時時刻刻從事「理性行為」呢？
這是耐人尋味的問題。
人類是群居動物，要追求幸福快樂的人生，必須與別人交往、相處。那麼，人際間的分工合作、和諧相處、與人為善、利人利己的做法，是不是最能「理性」的達到幸福快樂的人生嗎？
可是，現實社會中，我們往往看到四處充斥著自私自利、損人利己、鬥爭衝突，甚至相殘為敵等現象。這些不都是「不理性行為」嗎？
因此，要說「人是理性的」似乎有點牽強，但說「人是不理性的」好像也不對？
諾貝爾經濟學獎得主塞勒（Richard H.Thaler）提倡的「非理性衝動」經濟行為，就值得一提。行為經濟學，結合了經濟學和心理學兩大領域，用心理學的理論解釋經濟學所不能解釋的人類的經濟行為。總之，行為經濟學認為人是有限理性，有限意志力和有限自私的。
塞勒理論的價值是什麼？
長期以來的傳統經濟學假設人類的經濟行為是理性而自私的，以追求最大利潤或追求最大滿足為最主要的決策標的，所謂趨利避害。
但事實上，人類經濟行為不僅受到「經濟因素」影響，更會受到「情緒因子」左右，因而產生許多傳統經濟學理論所不能解釋的現象。
所以，塞勒主張以「有限理性」代替「完全理性」，以「滿意」代替「最佳」，這時就可以將過去經濟學理論對不合理的「非常態」或「矛盾」現象，例如艾力斯矛盾、囚犯困局、最後通牒遊戲等非常態現象，加入了人性因素，因而可以提出一個相對完滿的解釋。這種將心理學、社會學引進經濟學模型中，使得經濟學的視野更遼闊，也更加實務。所以，塞勒，他早期的兩篇文章《消費者選擇的新理論》和《股市是否反應過度？》備受學界推崇。
總體來說，塞勒教授最令人矚目的成就是提出：
1、「心理帳戶」（Mental Account）概念。
傳統經濟學認為錢是可以替代的，不管100元錢是如何得到的，它的價值是相等的，人們就這100元錢的消費行為也應該是相同的。但行為學的研究表明，錢對很多人來說並不具有完全可替代性。
塞勒教授根據錢的不完全可替代性，提出了心理帳戶的概念，個人和家庭評估、追溯經濟活動時有一系列認知上的反應，即人們頭腦里有一種心理帳戶，人們把實際上客觀等價的支出或收益在心理上卻劃分到不同的帳戶中。
例如：人們會把自己辛辛苦苦掙來的工資存起來不捨得花，但如果得到一筆意外的獎金，就會大手大腳。
2、稟賦效應（Endowment Effect）概念。
稟賦效應，是指當擁有一件東西時會讓你高估它的價值。顧名思義，它指的是當人們擁有了某項物品後，其對該物品價值的評價就會比沒有擁有它之前大大增加。
塞勒有一個類實驗，他讓獲得咖啡杯的人（賣家）和沒有咖啡杯的人（買家）分別給咖啡杯標價。他發現賣家的要價（中位數）是$5.25，而買家的出價（中位數）是$2.25～$2.75，前者是後者的兩倍。是賣家不近情理嗎？還是買家太小氣？
這個實驗用一種更為直觀的方式，向我們揭示了「價值」的主觀性：一件東西究竟值多少錢，更多地取決於我們站在哪一個位置上。不用責備賣家總是索要高價，如果換作我們自己在他的位置上，恐怕也會和他一樣。
3、行為生命周期假說（The behavioral life-cycle hypothesis）概念。
傳統經濟學中有著名的「生命周期假說」，假設人們能夠事先估計一生的收入，然後能夠合理安排儲蓄和消費來平穩度過一生，就能達到貨幣效用的最大化。
塞勒教授另一項研究成果是和瑟夫林（Shefrin）一起提出了行為生命周期假說。
該理論最核心的部分，是為原先的理性假說增加了三個重要的行為學變量：
（1）自我約束（self-control）變量。當錢在手時，人們常常沒有意志力去遏制自身的消費衝動。這也就是為什麼政府需要提出養老金計劃，強迫人們將現在的一部分收入延遲消費；
（2）心理帳戶（mental account）變量。很多家庭在消費時將財產歸屬於不同的心理帳戶，不同帳戶的消費傾向不同。研究表明，人們對現金的消費傾向大，而對房契等財產的消費傾向很小；
（3）心理定格（framing）變量。行為學的模型假設人們在決策時受到參考點的影響。比如同樣得到一筆數額較大的獎金，一次性得到和分數月支取，對人們的消費行為影響是不盡相同的，前者要比後者效應大得多。
該假說提出，即使人們有充分的選擇權力，也不可能自行做出效用最大化的消費、儲蓄分配決策，因此養老金等外部干預儲蓄計劃，對最大化個人一生的貨幣效用有積極的意義。
4、助推（Nudge）概念。
塞勒晚年致力於行為經濟學的普及及應用的工作，2008年他和森斯坦茵（Sunstain）合著了《Nudge: Improving Decisions About Health, Wealth and Happiness》（助推：事關健康、財富與快樂的最佳選擇）一書，闡述了如何通過「助推式營銷」方法，在不施加強迫的情況下巧妙引導人們做出更理性的選擇。
基本論點是人類並非完全理性，因此政策制定者需要做一些設計，「助推」公民做出更聰明、更有效的行為。塞勒認為，「助推」之所以有用，是因為人類並不是完全理性的。
助推的重點在於，政策設計者就像是「選擇設計師」（choice architect），透過情境打造與物質安排——就像建築師設計房屋一樣──可以促進使用者做出正確的決定與舉動。
塞勒認為，政府如果希望人民做哪些事情，就應該把做這些事情的成本降到最低。比如政府要鼓勵老百姓運動，那麼就應該把體育館的設施修建到位；如果要鼓勵老百姓存錢，就應該把銀行體系儘量簡化等。
塞勒又用一個簡單的例子來說明：學校自助餐廳的管理人為了要讓學生吃得更健康，在不改變既定菜譜的情況下，把蔬菜與低卡食物儘可能放在靠近餐檯的位置、高度也儘量與學生眼睛同高，同時把薯條之類的高卡食物放在不顯眼的地方，結果學生選擇健康食物的比例大幅提高。他把這種規劃或設計稱為 Nudge──原意是「用手肘輕推」之意，與 push（推動）和 force（強迫）不同，而是助推。
行為經濟學啟迪我們正確認識決策行為，人是理性和非理性統一體，任何經濟行為者都存在著非理性行為，任何企業內部也存在著非理性行為。
為了克服人類在決策上的天生弱點，就應該在決策程序或機制上做一些預設，如換位思考法，考慮如果自己處在相反的或其他的情形時會如何決策；推遲決策法，給決策留出慎思的時間；回頭審視法，逆向調整自己，以免做出錯誤評價。
總之，行為經濟學出發點是人，落腳點還是人，從這一意義上來說，它是管理方面的經濟學。
二、人性能否改造，是個哲學問題
在這個世界上，不同的哲學思想流派，對人性有截然不同的看法。
例如，有意識形態哲學家認為人性可以改造，並試圖通過思想改造，把人塑造成完人。
持有這種人性改造論者相信，人的力量大於天。他們的口頭禪是：只有想不到，沒有做不到。
另一流派，保守主義的人性論認為，人性一直存在，而且一成不變。
保守主義者認為，人的本性從來沒有發生過絲毫的變化。亦即：貪婪會繼續、恐慌也會繼續、從眾也會繼續。
保守主義認為，人在本質上是有限的存在，沒有人是全知、全能、全善的。人的有限性不僅表現在人人都有壽終之日這一點上，而且尤其表現在人的理性能力的有限性這一點上。沒有人有能力發現全部的歷史規律，沒有人有能力預測宏觀經濟和資本市場的每個變動。既然人的理性能力是有限的，既然沒有人是全知、全能的，那麼，人犯錯誤是不可避免的。其名言所謂：犯錯才是人！（To err is human!）
那麼，你認為以上究竟那個人性假設流派較為正確？
檢驗的方法很簡單。資本市場中是否可以找到旋沒有犯過錯誤的投資者——-那已成為富可敵國的投資者？巴菲特沒犯過錯？
很顯然，這個問題的答案是否定的。在資本市場上，是個聰明人聚集最多的場所，同時，這裡也擠滿了非理性的人；這裡是成就最大的地方，也是挫折最嚴重的地方。可以說，資本市場，簡直就是人性弱點的博覽會。
尤其，在資本市場，同樣的錯誤，一個投資者一生卻可能要重覆犯無數次。因這些投資者一碰到某種場景就情不自禁，無法抗拒自己的本性。
尤其因為新冠肺炎疫情的蔓延，現在全世界鎖國／封城的國家已超過地球上人口的一半，飛機停飛，郵輪停駛，全世界著名景點都關閉，這是人類史無前例的景況，有人形容這是第三次世界大戰，只不過敵人不是子彈，而是看不見的病毒，而實體經濟只剩一口氣。
但是，美國Fed突然使出無上限的ＱＥ，美國道瓊指數從18213點快速彈升，帶動全球股市絕地大反攻。
世道如此混沌，股市此時大反彈，雖是跌深後的「無基之彈」，不過實體經濟與貨幣現象纏鬥，最後究竟鹿死誰手，目前也猶未可知？
所以，永遠不要想著能夠買在股市最低點、賣在最高點，因為人性弱點很難克服。
三、理財之道＝人性試鍊場瀟灑走一回

在股海浮沉中，這公式可以當一塊能賴以求生的浮木，讓大家理財行為理性點。
資本市場中沒有專家，只有輸家和贏家。許多人終其一生在求名師指導，其實師父引入門，修行在個人，所有想戰勝大盤的技巧，都必須通過市場的考驗。透過個人對投資哲學的信仰、投資組合的選擇、技術分析的鑽研，才能找到一條屬於「自己」的賺錢道路。
在台灣股票市場，我們看過很多人「樓起、樓塌」，台股在1990年2月12日，指數從歷史高點12682反轉而下，多少人葬身股海，從此退出股市。
例如宏達電由2011年4月29日的高檔1300元，之後一路下跌到現在的25-30元間浮沈套牢，真是情何以堪。其實我們回頭檢視一遍，如果你相信技術分析，又能夠絕對嚴守紀律操作的話，應該就不會傾家蕩產！
又如2014年7月28日，台股發生「基亞事件」，當天股票開盤就跌停板，往後一連下跌20支跌停板，造成散戶、大戶、金主嚴重套牢虧損。這個事件的主因是基亞（3176）開發的新藥送美檢驗，第一關便未通過。
事實上，2014年3月，基亞股價從200元開始飆漲時，市場就在炒作這個題材的「本夢比」，因為基亞在第一季的每股收益是賠1.11元，一家賠錢公司的股價高達200元，這就已經脫離正常本質了，這種股票的飆漲，絕對要用技術分析、嚴守紀律來操作，在多頭上漲的階段做多，當空頭形成時立刻出場，不符合短線進場基本條件，就不要進場，進場後，則要守紀律及時出場，自然就能避開風險。
所以，散戶一定要學習看懂走勢圖的能力，看出圖形透露的訊號，適時調整自己的操作策略，採取不同的方法，按照紀律操作，自然能夠輕鬆應付股市的千變萬化。其實，相信技術分析就是相信趨勢，順從趨勢，每個贏家不都是這麼說、這麼做的嗎？
四、「價值投資」哲學—-既要順應人性慾望，也要抗拒人性弱點
有人說，人性永遠是投資的天敵？
這話是不對的。難道沒有人性才是投資成功的前提？
有人說，要成功投資，必須戰勝、超越人性？
但是全面地戰勝與超越人性，這是不可能的。
人性之所以被稱為人性，就是因其源於自身並難以克服。
只有超人才能全面戰勝、超越人性，而超人已經不是生活在芸芸眾生中的凡人了。
再想想看，人與狐貍的差別是什麼呢？狐貍不能抗拒本性，而人類是有可能在一定程度上抗拒人性中一些傾向。動物只按本性行事，人卻有可能按理性行事。
正是基於人性的不同看法，和對人性中的不同成分採取不同的順應與抗拒的策略，才形成了主張不同的投資哲學。
在投資活動中，究竟要如何選擇投資哲學（信仰），以克制自己人性的弱點呢？
保守主義「價值投資」哲學的回答是：既要順應人性，也要抗拒人性。
順應人性是一件比較簡單的事情。人是有慾望的動物，為了生存，必須佔有，這是不容商量的。為了生存得更好，每個人在本性上都想自我實現，都追求更大的成就，亦即每個投資者在本性上都想取得更高的回報，這是人性之常情。因此，對於人性中自我實現的傾向，每個投資者都應該順應的、可以妥協的。
但是，為了投資的成功，投資者對人性的很多傾向，是不能妥協的。不僅不能妥協，而且要極力去抗拒。
抗拒人性中的一些傾向之所以是可能的，是因為人性常有對立的兩面。你選擇去服從人性中的一個方面，就意味著你抗拒了人性中的另一個方面。
比如說，貪婪與恐懼、從眾與立異都植根於人的天性之中。當一個人選擇了貪婪的時候，他就在抗拒恐懼的一面；一個追求個性的人就會選擇拒絕從眾。
再比如，遠見與短視都植根在人性之中，追求遠見的人，必抗拒短視；行事理性的人，必抗拒情緒化。所以，投資者要順應追求自我實現的本性，就必須抗拒恐懼、貪婪、短視、從眾、情緒化等眾多的人性弱點。
「價值投資」哲學的出發點是正視與承認人類具「有限理性」這一事實，並對人類能力永遠持自謙與懷疑的態度。
因此，保守主義的「價值投資」哲學也就格外防範保守主義經濟學家哈耶克所指出的“致命的自負”。在投資領域，致命的自負者認為自己有能力預測並把握市場趨勢與價格的每一個變化，並轉化為回報。這致命自負就來自於人的本性。
「價值投資」哲學的每一個主張都是針對人性提出的，他們主張每個投資者都應該在自己的“能力圈”內投資，因為每個人的理性能力和所掌握的知識都是有限的。既然每個人的理性能力是有限的，為了降低犯錯的概率，就應該減少投資的次數，增加投資的相對集中度，以提高每次投資成功的概率。
「價值投資」哲學還有一個著名的主張，就是要把自己視為所投資對象的所有者。投資者不能視自己如過客、視自己投資的股票與自己利益無關。因為保守主義的人性論認為每個人都是自私的，這意味著，一件東西只有被視為自己的，才會得到認真對待。
「價值投資」亦認為要想投資成功，必須抗拒集體主義的從眾心理。因此，保守主義「價值投資」哲學崇尚抗拒投資上的非理性的從眾傾向。
投資界有句盡人皆知的名言：“當別人貪婪的時候，你該恐懼；當別人恐懼的時候，你該貪婪。”反向投資的精髓在於：防止自己的錯誤，利用他人的錯誤！
想想網球、高爾夫或是任何體育競技項目。有兩種非常不同的比賽策略：專業運動員通過積極爭分來打敗對手贏得比賽。業餘選手則通過利用對方犯錯來取勝，這在金融市場也適用。
「價值投資」投資者的一個重要美德是，能正視自己的錯誤。
揚功隱過、報喜不報憂是人類天性的一部分。許多人並無意騙人，而是真誠地無視自己的錯誤與過失。在自己的缺點與過失面前，可以說，人人都是鴕鳥，只是把頭埋進沙子裡的深度和時間長度不同而已。誰願意讓自己的心情不愉快呢？
市場的風險與其說是外在風險，不如說是植根於人性之中的內在風險。投資成功與否，最終取決於對人性的體悟。成功的投資者常常對人性具有深邃的洞察力。
所以，保守主義「價值投資」哲學認為，投資的精髓是：既要順應人性慾望，也要抗拒人性弱點！
